THE STORY OF ARSIS

It was the year 1991 when chamber choir ARSIS was born. We were famous for our captivating repertoire and concert programmes and won many awards from international festivals and competitions. We were active as a choir until 1997. In 1993 we received the first set of handbells as a gift from The American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR) and 12 singers started learning this exquisite instrument.

Today, there are 8 members in the Arsis Handbell Ensemble and we have two music schools – handbell schools in Tallinn and in Tartu, with youth concert ensembles in each school. We have one of the best sets of handbells in the world, made by the Malmark Bellcraftsmen in the United States. We are also the official representatives of the Malmark factory in Europe (except in Finland and in the UK) – we sell, clean and repair handbells.
